Frank Hofenbetzer, Group VP Strategy Development

Huhtamaki

Frank studied economics at Hamburg University and started his career at German chemical giant Hoechst. He assumed his first management position as Controlling Manager of Pharmacia Germany, at the time a Swedish pharmaceutical mulitinational. After 4 years of experiencing various merger integrations he joined Huhtamaki, a Finnish global player in the packaging industry. Starting as the German Finance Director Frank moved to various positions as Regional Controller, European Segement Controller. After a side step as Programme Manager to introduce a new business operating model in Europe backed by a new ERP solution he became Operations Director and acting Plant Manager in France. In 2008 Huhtamaki decided to divest its global consumer goods rigid packaging business and Frank was appointed Group Vice President Strategy Development with a first assignment to divest a number of companies in South Africa, Australia and Europe. Having achieved this Huhtamaki turned to the acquisition side and Frank is now engaged in buying companies to reinforce Huhtamaki's various segments, the first one in Brasil the latest one in China.

In his role as Packaging Advisor, his task is to build bridges with the parts of the value chain, especially with the brand owners, who long have remained invisible for the raw material manufacturers. He speaks of sun powered biomaterials and believes the world needs a new approach substituting finite material with renewables, especially in packaging.

Antoinette Devine has over 26 years packaging experience across disparate industries, Cosmetics & Toiletries, Spirits, Pharmaceuticals and Beer. She is currently Global Technical Consultant with Group technical Packaging at SABMiller with responsibility for “open innovation” and “packaging sustainability She obtained an MSc in Packaging Technology from Loughborough University in 2000. An active member of the UK Institute of Material, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) Packaging division and examination assessment board she is also a member of the team representing the UK on the development of the suite of Packaging and the Environment ISO standards.

Jean Baptiste Rubens joined Kraft in 1997 and then worked for 6 years in R&D (coffee, chocolate and cheese & grocery), then moved to procurement responsible for external manufacturing. Since 2011, he has been responsible for Procurement Innovation and External Manufacturing EU. In May 2012, he was the winner of the Procurement Leaders Award for innovation.
